Vol. 11 No. 2 (2025): Educational Turn and its Developments in the Field of Art: Critiques, Revisions, and Proposals

The Apotheke Journal, an open-access online periodical, presents in this volume original articles on the theme “Educational Turn and its developments in the field of art: critiques, revisions, and proposals.” This edition is dedicated to studies and reflections on aesthetic education and its methodologies, addressing practices that circulate in the space of creation between art and life, especially within the field of visual arts.
Reflecting on the Educational Turn means recognizing Education as a central theme and as an expanded praxis. In this context, Education becomes a space for debate and action, in dialogue with art, problematizing discursive, political, and institutional dimensions. It is not about adorning or reinforcing established practices, but about questioning neoliberal tendencies that reduce teaching to standards, immediate results, and numerical indicators. On the contrary, the aim is to understand creativity as a transformative force, capable of breaking through temporal and spatial limitations and proposing new perceptions and ways of acting.
In this edition, we bring together proposals that explore the intersections between artistic production and educational intervention, fostering questioning and pointing to new ways of seeing, making, and intertwining art and education.
