The helm of Perseus: education and Ideology in debate

Abstract

This article is a procedure by which we explain the links between education, science and ideology. To achieve this goal, we start from the historical and real analysis of these concepts as expressions of real movements. The method we work with is marxian ontology and the educational and pedagogical theory on which we are based is historical-critical pedagogy. We conclude with the need for researchers and teachers to reflect on the ideological orientation of their investigative and educational activities based on the social function that ideology and science play in the social-educational complex. We take as input reflections from the film “don’t look up” and the greek myth of Perseus.
