Abstract

In this section of the research “Textile Choreographies: Body, Memory and Knowledge in the Living Weave of Artist Teaching”, we explore the interconnection between the body, textile practice and teaching of visual arts. The emphasis is on the gestures inherent to textile practices conceived as bodily performances that transcend the technical execution itself to an indispensability that is relational and integrative for the human being. In addition to analyzing these gestures in themselves and in our creative processes, we will investigate their educational implications, through the repetition, undoing, mending and joining of threads, lines, needles and fabrics in the textile work “NÓS, DE MUITAS”, which consists of the collective sewing of a quilt and reveals specific nuances about educational knowledge for contemporary times. Textile processes are an invitation to collectivization, just as threads that intertwine to form a weft, the encounters mediated by textiles create networks of belonging and learning. In formal and informal spaces, textile making becomes a territory for listening and experimentation, a place where time is plural and learning takes place through engagement with the sensitive.

Ana Julia Ribeiro de Macedo, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco

Artista têxtil, curadora e pesquisadora independente. Graduada em Direito pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2019) e especialista em Direitos Humanos, Responsabilidade Social e Cidadania Global pela PUCRS. Integrante do grupo de Pesquisa Ensino das Artes Visuais (CNPq UFPE/UFPB).

Luciana Borre, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco

Professora e coordenadora dos Cursos de Licenciatura e Bacharelado em Artes Visuais da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. Professora e vice-coordenadora no Programa Associado de Pós-Graduação em Artes Visuais UFPE/UFPB. É doutora pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Arte e Cultura Visual da Faculdade de Artes Visuais da Universidade Federal de Goiás (FAV/UFG). No período de janeiro de 2013 a janeiro de 2014, foi bolsista do Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Doutorado Sanduíche no Exterior (PDSE/CAPES) na Universidade Publica de Navarra, Espanha. Integrante do Grupo de Pesquisa Cultura Visual e Educação (GPCVE). Mestre em Educação pela PUCRS (2008); especialista em Gestão e Planejamento Escolar pela PUCRS (2006) e graduada em Pedagogia pela UFRGS (2004).
