O texto analisa as experiências desenvolvidas pelo Théâtre du Mouvement [Teatro do Movimento], criado em Paris em 1973, destacando as diferenciadas práticas realizadas com o objeto e suas possíveis relações com as artes do teatro de bonecos e tendências contemporâneas do teatro de animação. As análises são enriquecidas com reflexões sobre as atividades pedagógicas e de direção teatral desenvolvidas pela autora na Escola Superior Nacional das Artes da Marionete — ESNAM —, de Charleville-Mézières, França, onde é professora desde o ano de 1988. O trabalho do ator animador, seus desdobramentos e a complexa relação com o objeto/boneco constituem o foco central do presente estudo.
