O DESMONTE DA UNIVERSIDADE PÚBLICA: A INTERFACE DE UMA IDEOLOGIA <br> THE DECLINE OF PUBLIC UNIVERSITY: THE INTERFACE OF AN IDEOLOGY

Résumé

O autor, em seu trabalho dividido em duas partes distintas, porém interligadas entre si, analisa o desmonte da universidade brasileira face à política neoliberal. Na parte teórica, em que contextualiza e teoriza essa problemática, inicialmente faz uma breve incursão na história para recortar alguns fatos que marcaram a Educação Superior, no período colonial, imperial e republicano. Analisa, segundo a ótica de diferentes autores, questões polêmicas e crônicas da universidade brasileira. Na segunda parte, descreve a metodologia investigativa utilizada, tomando como população docentes/discentes e funcionários das universidades federais situadas no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, e traz ao público leitor algumas inferências decorrentes deste estudo, para análise e reflexão.

Abstract: The author, in his study divided in two different but connected sections, analyses the disassembly of the Brazilian university before the neoliberal politics. Contextualizing and theorizing this set of problerms in the theoric section, he initially makes a brief historical intruduction emphasizing some facts that influenced Graduate Education in the colonial, imperial and republican periods. He analyzes Brazilian university’s controversial and crucial issues according to different authors’ views. In the second section, he describes the investigative methodology he used, whose subjects were professors, students and employees from the federal universities in Rio Grande do Sul. He also describes procedures and offers to the readers’ analysis and reflexion some inferences deriving from this study.
