Abstract

Tania Passarini and Luca Comastri, Italian actors from Fraternal Compagnia APS gave an interview to Professor Dr. Maria Brígida de Miranda on May 8, 2024. They discussed historical documents that indicate the work of women in the Commedia dell'Arte companies from the sixteenth century onwards and reflected on the developments of the Second Wave of the feminist movement in Italy in relation to theatrical practice and the efforts of actress Eleonora Fuser to create the mask La Strega (The Witch). Tania and Luca revealed about the dramaturgy of their new production inspired by the sixteenth-century witch hunt manual - Malleus Maleficarum - The Hammer of the Witches.

Author Biographies

Maria Brígida de Miranda, Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina

Full Professor in the Department of Performing Arts, and faculty member of the postgraduate program in Performing Arts (PPGAC/CEART/UDESC) at the State University of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, SC. Doctor of Philosophy in the area of Theatre and Drama from La Trobe University, Australia. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Theatre in the Postgraduate Program in Arts at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. She is the Coordinator of the Research Project Curarte: performing practices for well-being – gender studies and feminisms in the performing arts (CNPq), within the Political Images Research Line, State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC).

                                                                                                   

Luca Comastri, Fraternal Compagnia

Ator e Diretor artístico da Fraternal Compagnia APS (Bolonha, Itália). Desde 2012, ele também se dedica à idealização e encenação de seus próprios espetáculos teatrais e cômicos e, por vários anos, colabora como assistente de Alessandra Cortesi na área do Movimento Expressivo. Seu percurso o levou a explorar o teatro físico, em particular o estudo sobre a máscara, tornando-se também mascheraio (artesão de máscaras) na Fraternal Compagnia.

Tania Passarini, Fraternal Compagnia

Atriz e Presidente da Fraternal Compagnia APS (Bolonha, Itália). Professora de teatro corpóreo, para um trabalho propedêutico na Commedia dell’Arte. Trabalhou como atriz em diversos espetáculos teatrais sob a direção de: Carlo Boso, Romano Danielli, Massimo Macchiavelli, Luciano Leonesi, Piero Ferrarini, Maria Grazia Ghetti, Tom Lister, Giorgio Trestini. Vencedora do Prêmio Enriquez 2012 como melhor atriz protagonista.
