Abstract

In this article, the author addresses aspects of a Poetics of the Simple applied to the practice of the Lambe-Lambe Theater. Going through essential themes to the development of the aforementioned scenic language in terms of its encounter with creative partnerships and the public, such as action through gaps, humility, singularity, simplicity and sincerity, reflecting on the process of dissemination of the Lambe-Lambe Theater in the world.

Author Biography

Pedro Cobra, Cia. PlastikOnírica

Multidisciplinary artist exploring the hybrid intersections of theater and other art forms. A member of the Cia. PlastikOnírica, he works as a puppeteer, lambe-lambe artist, actor, researcher, producer, and artistic director. Holding a degree in Art-Theater from the Paulista State University – Unesp and a master's in Theories and Practices of Contemporary Theater from the Université de Lille, France, his research focused on the history and poetics of Teatro Lambe-Lambe, culminating in the thesis "O Teatro Lambe-Lambe – Sua história e poesia do pequeno." With productions such as "Saudade," "A Fiandeira," and "EntrƎ," he has participated in numerous animated theater and street art festivals across Brazil, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Recently, Cia. PlastikOnírica premiered "Memórias d'Omar" (2023), a hybrid puppet animation, objects, and kamishibai performance for public and unconventional spaces. Additionally, he is dedicated to producing exhibitions and workshops on Teatro Lambe-Lambe and animated forms in the Baixada Santista region and beyond, both in-person and virtually. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he initiated the "PAPO LAMBEIRO" live chat series on Teatro Lambe-Lambe and participated in virtual festivals with Cia. PlastikOnírica. He is also a faculty member of the University Diploma in Puppet Theater specializing in Teatro Lambe-Lambe at La Máscara/UNCAUS in El Chaco, Argentina. His work has been published in the journals "Aspas," "Mamulengo," and "Anima."
