Abstract

The clothing industry presenting chemical and social impacts throughout its cycle. Thus,
environmental awareness about these impacts as well as their confrontation is urgent among
professionals in the area. In view of this scenario, this paper aims to present the conception
and action of the Fashion Design for Sustainability Teaching Project throughout 2019 at IFRS
campus Erechim. For that, it uses the experience report as a method, exposing the context of
creation, the procedures used and the actions implemented throughout the project. As a result,
the project provided an approximation between the disciplines of courses in the Fashion
area and the theme design for sustainability, fostering the environmental awareness of future
professionals.

Author Biography

Andréia Mesacasa, Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Sul - IFRS

Possui Graduação em Moda - Habilitação em Estilismo (2003) pela Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (UDESC), Especialização em Moda, Criação e Produção (2005) pela Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (UDESC), Mestrado em Desenvolvimento Regional (2012) pela Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR) e Doutorado em Design (2018) pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR). Docente efetiva dos Cursos Técnicos em Modelagem do Vestuário, Concomitante em Produção de Moda e Superior de Tecnologia em Design de Moda do Instituto Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS), Campus Erechim. Tem experiência na área de Design de Moda, com ênfase em Desenvolvimento de Produto, Desenho, Materiais e Processos Têxteis e Ecodesign.
