Abstract

This visual essay is the result of a research process carried out between 2004 and 2008 in the Visual Arts course at the Federal University of Uberlândia, whose theme is linked to the figure of clowns present in the Folias de Reis de Carmo do Rio Claro - Minas Gerais. In the meantime, a record of a poetic-visual work based on the technique of cutting and collages is presented, in which the representations of the clowns are constructed interspersed between arabesque lines, chita textiles, floral elements, musical instruments and other props present in these manifestations of religiosity. popular. Context of different crossings between materialities, procedures and supports expand until the sublime moment of encounter between the artistic works and their source of imagery-cultural reference, the Folia de Reis.

Fábio Martins, State University of Ponta Grossa

Doutorando em Geografia - UEPG/PR, Mestre em Gestão do Território - UEPG, Especialista em História, Arte e Cultura - UEPG, Graduado (Bacharelado e Licenciatura) em Artes Plásticas pela - UFU/MG. Professor de Arte pela SEED/PR. Artista Visual. Integrante dos grupos de pesquisa CNPQ: Geografia e História: memória social e patrimônio cultural - UEPG, Grupo de Práticas de Pesquisas Qualitativas em Geografia - UEPG e do Núcleo de Pesquisa em Pintura e Ensino - UFU. Suas pesquisas abarcam as seguintes ênfases: Arte - educação, Paisagem, Bens Culturais, Antropologia Visual e Folias de Reis.

Ana Helena da Silva Delfino Duarte, Federal University of Uberlândia

Doutora em História Social pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo PUC/SP, com estágio de doutorado na Universidade de Évora EU / Portugal (Bolsa PDEE-CAPES - 2012). Fez Mestrado em História (2002), especialização em Ensino de Arte (1997) pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia/UFU. Possui Graduação em Artes Plásticas na Escola de Belas Artes da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais / UFMG. Atualmente é professora Associada I na Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, atuando no Curso de Graduação em Artes Visuais e no Programa de Pós-graduação em Artes (Mestrado Profissional em Artes Visuais). Atua também como professora no Programa de Pós-graduação em Museologia da Universidade Federal da Bahia / UFBA, na linha de pesquisa Patrimônio e Comunicação. É pesquisadora do Núcleo de Pesquisa em Pintura e Ensino - NUPPE/UFU (líder), no Núcleo de Estudos de História Social da Cidade - NEHSC/PUC/SP (pesquisador) e no Grupo de Pesquisa sobre Cibermuseus / NEP - Núcleo de Pesquisa dos Ex-votos /GREC/UFBA (pesquisador).
