cênica do Teatro Ruth Escobar, do porão ao urdimento – é instalada uma estrutura
vertical em espiral feita com sobras da construção da Praça Roosevelt (Souza,
2003, p.132), tornando-se um marco da mecânica e tecnologia cenográfica no
Brasil (Serroni, 2013, p.53). Tais obras constituem, acredito, uma espécie de gênese
da
cena expandida paulistana
, sempre dialogando com o contexto da cidade e do
país, assim como é também possível identificar no trabalho de Flávio Império,
junto ao Teatro de Arena, por outras vias.
No Rio de Janeiro, o cenógrafo Luiz Carlos Ripper – através da “busca por
uma linguagem brasileira” (Bulcão, 2014, p.85) ligada às três matrizes culturais do
país – tinha, entre outros interesses, a expansão da cena e o “contínuo
transbordamento dos limites na ocupação do espaço” (Bulcão, 2014, p.85), em
trabalhos que se estenderam entre o teatro e o cinema nas décadas de 1970 e
1980, nos quais o próprio cenógrafo amplia sua atuação como diretor de arte,
incluindo figurinos, iluminação, produção e direção, além da pesquisa e ensino,
criando um “modelo” de atuação expandido. No mesmo período, Aderbal Júnior
dirigiu
A Morte de Danton
(1977), encenando-a dentro de um canteiro de obras
subterrâneo do metrô no centro da cidade, remetendo ao processo de
transformação das cidades brasileiras no período, como descrito por Lídia
Kosovski (2009).
Paralelamente, no campo das artes visuais, o curador e crítico de arte
Frederico de Morais, interessado na produção de vanguarda nacional, em
projetos como
Domingos da Criação
, no Museu de Arte Moderna (MAM)
do Rio de Janeiro, ou Do Corpo
Terra (1970), em Belo Horizonte,
aproxima não apenas a produção artística, mas a experiência do público,
levando à rua propostas de interação com diferentes materiais, naturais
e artificiais, muitas vezes lixo industrial ou resíduos do consumo
(Rebouças, 2021, p.57).
Essas “manifestações de livre criatividade com novos materiais”
revelam,
De acordo com o curador, “As quantidades do material doado por diferentes empresas eram significativas.
Vários fardos cúbicos de aparas de papel e de tecido, que pareciam inesgotáveis quando abertos, enormes
bobinas de papel pardo, sobras de bobinas de papel-jornal, caixas de papelão corrugado, centenas de
revistas. Peças inteiras de tecido eram desenroladas pelos integrantes do grupo teatral Tá na Rua, para criar
cenografias e coreografias em seu deambular pelos espaços do MAM, subindo e descendo a rampa que leva
ao terraço ou encimando as pedras retangulares do jardim. Para o Domingo Terra a Terra, foram toneladas
de areia, brita e outros materiais de construção transportados em caminhões basculantes e despejados no
pátio do museu” (Morais, 2013, p.345).
