[...] é inquisitiva e não interrogativa, oferecendo uma linha de
questionamento em vez de exigir respostas; é atenta, ao invés de
deliberada por intenções prévias, modestamente experimentais e não
descaradamente transgressivas, crítica, mas não entregue à crítica. Unir-
se às forças que dão origem a ideias e coisas, em vez de expressar o que
já existe, a arte antropológica concebe sem ser conceitual. Essa arte
reacende o cuidado e o desejo, permitindo ao conhecimento crescer a
partir do interior do ser nas correspondências da vida (Ingold, 2020, p.94).
As premissas acima justificam os esforços de Ingold (2016) em questionar a
etnografia como método antropológico por excelência. Para o pesquisador, o modo
fundamental de construção do conhecimento está centrado na observação
participante, na atenção e correspondência com a alteridade. Ao perceber tais
qualidades vicejando nas artes, Ingold resgata (e revisa) o debate acerca do
antropólogo como artista e do artista como antropólogo. Embora não haja aqui
espaço para uma análise pormenorizada do tema (ver Clifford, 2002; Foster, 2014,
Sansi, 2015; Krüger, 2017), nessa breve avaliação do debate, Ingold (2020) uma vez
mais distancia-se das premissas da etnografia, para centrar-se na observação
participante e em sua potencialidade para o conhecimento antropológico. Assim,
se Ingold compreende a tarefa da antropologia como “[...] trazer outros para a vida,
para atraí-los ao campo de nossa atenção, para que, por sua vez, possamos nos
corresponder com eles” (Ingold, 2020, p.97) a arte antropológica implica em uma
promessa, a de “[...] trazer as coisas à plenitude da presença, colocá-las ‘na mesa’,
para libertá-las das determinações de metas e objetivos” (Ingold, 2020, p.97).
Desta forma, tal como antropólogos que questionam a etnografia como
método, recusando-se a fechar ou enquadrar seus “temas” ou “sujeitos” de modo
objetificado, os artistas com quem partilhamos reflexões e experiências também
abdicam de fórmulas dramatúrgicas e concepções preestabelecidas de teatro.
Com isso, os atores tornam-se narradores, mediadores, abertos à escuta, à
interação, ao sopro e ao diálogo. Espectadores tornam-se jogadores, participantes
de uma experiência intersubjetiva, testemunhas de memórias que são, agora,
partilhadas. Novas formas de relação com a alteridade são engendradas, novas
visões sobre si são suscitadas. Mais do que encenar mitologias, etnografias ou
evidenciar novos aspectos das ontologias Kaingang e Guarani, o perspectivismo
