This article aims to contribute to the development of group piano teaching in Brazil, presenting the process of creating repertoire for the higher education context, as well as the guiding principles and criteria that underpinned this initiative. In this sense, the discussions held by the Research Group on Group Piano Teaching, created as part of the "Collective Music Teaching" Project at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES)), will be addressed in order to enable theoretical deepening and the expansion of interinstitutional dialogue. Starting with a contextualization of the use of ensemble music in group piano teaching, the text delves into issues related to the creation of arrangements for group piano teaching, followed by an exposition of the principles and criteria considered for the compositions and arrangements in question. Finally, a brief overview of the works produced and the final considerations resulting from the entire process are presented.
