Abstract

This article discusses the basic principles, guidelines and processes for the
registration of Northeast ern Popular Puppet Theater - Mamulengo, Babau, João Redondo and Cassimiro Coco - as part of Brazil’s cultural heritage. The article is based on a dossier, which is one of the requirements of IPHAN (National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage) to obtain the above-mentioned title.

    Possui graduação em Artes Cênicas pela Universidade de Brasília (1982), mestrado em História pela Universidade de Brasília (2001) e doutorado em Drama Studies pelo Trinity College - University of Dublin (2006). É professora adjunto do Departamento de Artes Cênicas, Instituto de Artes da Universidade de Brasília das áreas de Pedagogia do Teatro e Teatro de Formas Animadas. Concentra a sua atuação nos seguintes temas: teatro de bonecos, cultura brasileira, tradição e memória.
